What are the different types of parking lifts? It’s not a simple answer. At Harding Steel, we offer four different mechanical parking systems, including our hydraulic parklifts, tri- and quad-lifts, Carlofts™, and the Wöhr Parkloft 450. These four systems are the cornerstone of our business and can provide safe, secure, and steady parking in your garage, dealership, or facility. Explore these diverse types of parking lifts and decide which is best for you and your facility’s needs.
Parklifts
Our hydraulic parklifts are our most basic and popular car parking lifts. These parking lifts have the capacity for up to a 6,000 pound car with a destructive testing of over 12,000 pounds (about twice the weight of an elephant). In addition, Harding Steel parklifts can hold a large variety of vehicles, from classic cars to SUVs. A two-level car parking system parklift can fit just about everywhere, making the most of available space by adding a second level of parking anywhere. Harding Steel parklifts are excellent both indoors and out, but they need about 12 ½ feet of clearance in inside parking spaces. Made of galvanized steel, the system can easily be removed and set up anywhere, works on a hydraulic power pack, and provides a solid platform to prevent dripping on the car below.
Tri- and Quad-Lifts
Do you have a high-volume parking business, or desperately need to maximize storage in your building? Our next two styles of car parking lifts are our Tri- and Quad-Lifts. If the name isn’t an indication, they’re an affordable way to triple or quadruple your warehouse or garage’s storage capacity by stacking three to four stacks and rows of cars. Cars can be raised and lowered and the lifts can be set up to easily accommodate drive-through garages. These parking lifts have the capacity up to a 6,000 pound car per level with a destructive testing of over 12,000 pounds per level. These systems are usually custom-designed for specific height and usually have a height of 22 ½ feet for the Tri-Lift and 29 ½ feet for the Quad-Lift.
Carloft™
Our Carloft™ car parking lifts make better use of any overhead attic or ceiling space you might have in your garage, home, warehouse, or display area. Unlike the above lifts, these don’t require posts and instead provide a system that suspends the vehicle from the slab, beams, or other structures overhead, leaving room for other vehicles below. By nature, Carlofts™ are customizable and operate on electric motors rather than hydraulic systems. They can accommodate two-, three-, or four-bay garage car lift systems, as well and leave room for cars to freely drive around below. As a storage solution, you can store other things besides cars as well!
Wöhr Parkloft 450
The Wöhr Parkloft 450 is our final answer to the question, “What are the different types of parking lifts?” Harding Steel’s Wöhr Parkloft 450 system goes down into a pit to access the top car and up to access the bottom car for independent access to each vehicle. Using a pit parking system, cars are lowered into and raised from a pit area. The Parkloft works on a hydraulic system, is self-parking, and can provide enough space to accommodate two to four cars. A big benefit of this system is that cars can be retrieved without needing to remove cars from the top and bottom tiers.
